Follow Up: Leading Tactical & Emergency Vehicle Manufacturer Signs Multi-Year Contract with Supply Dynamics
SDX will unite hundreds of distributors and contract manufacturers under one “system of truth.”
Loveland, OH: In mid-March, following an in-depth on-site Opportunity Assessment (performed in November 2018), Supply Dynamics was hired by one of the world’s leading Tactical & Emergency Vehicle Manufacturers to assist it in expanding an existing directed-buy program for plate, sheet, bar stock, structural steel components, tubes, and extrusions. The project will include 3 main tasks: (1) enrich existing data on directed-buy parts to calculate blank dimensions and weights; (2) utilize Part Attribute Characterization (PAC) to transform engineering drawings for parts and assemblies into detailed bills-of-material (BOMs) where those BOMs do not currently exist, and; (3) licensing of the SDX multi-enterprise platform to provide end-to-end raw material supply chain visibility. SDX will combine multiple production schedules from a variety of legacy ERP systems into one centralized “system of truth” for orchestrating the timely purchase and supply of raw material. This will alleviate the need for “management through spreadsheets” and will keep BOMs up-to-date and accurate over time. The project also includes a systematic process for maintaining BOM accuracy even in an environment of frequent supplier changes, new part introductions and design changes to existing parts.
This multi-year agreement showcases Supply Dynamics’ in-depth subject matter expertise and experience in helping prominent OEMs move the needle when it comes to improving supply chain efficiency and building more collaborative, long-term relationships with all tiers of supply. Of the contract win, Supply Dynamics Customer Success Manager, Jessica Fall, says, “application of our technology solution will cement this customer’s position as a world-class vehicle manufacturer and help them form more trusting and collaborative relationships with their suppliers.”
